Installers have been professionally trained to
follow FCC guidelines (which require professional installation
of the transmitting satellite dish), and to give you a
hassle-free installation!
Standard installations
include:
The satellite system equipment
Mounting and grounding the antenna on a
surface of the customer's home accessible with a 25-foot ladder
Dish (antenna) side or 1st story roof mounting
Running exterior RG-6 cable (up to 100') to an
exterior/interior wall entry point
Interior faceplate, RG-6/USB cable to connect
your system
IMPORTANT NOTE: Hughes Network
Systems or its suppliers are not liable to the HughesNet
subscriber for damages to subscriber's hardware or software
as a result of installing HughesNet licensed software. For
details please carefully read the HughesNet Subscriber Licensing Agreement when running Web
Set Up.
Standard professional
installations DO NOT include:
Installing the antenna at a location on the
customer's home that is not accessible with a 25-foot ladder
Relocating DIRECTV receivers
Extra RG-6 cable over 100 feet per run
Drilling through more than one exterior and
one interior wall
Running cable through attics, basements, or
walls
Phone jack wiring where existing service is
more than 25 feet from the DIRECTV receiver
Providing enhancements to existing phone
system
Connecting to stereo or audio components other
than a VCR co-located with the DIRECTV receiver
Special moldings or cosmetic hardware to hide
exposed cables
Non-penetrating roof mount, pole mount or
chimney mount
Removal or repair of previously mounted
equipment without a Waiver of Liability signed by customer
Mileage if customer is located more than 35
miles from nearest authorized HUGHES installer
Complex/custom installations including
multiple DIRECTV receivers, excess cabling, wall fishes, etc.
Mounting antenna higher than the first level
roof
Networking multiple computers or connections
to LANs. Most installers charge extra for non-standard
installation items, so make sure to discuss these items and
their associated costs with your installer via phone and when
the installer arrives.
Here’s what happens:
- You place an order for HughesNet
high-speed satellite Internet.
- A professional installer calls
your house to schedule a convenient
appointment.
- The installer arrives at the
agreed-upon installation date and
time to install your antenna and
DW7000 modem.
- The installer will activate your
DW7000 modem and assist you with
registering at myHughesNet.com, and
then you can start enjoying
HughesNet!
